The defendant is Jeffery Alan Lindseth<\/strong>, 46, of Bemidji. He is charged with one felony count of theft. The complaint was filed in Beltrami County District Court.<\/p>\n

The charge says the alleged theft happened between July 1, 2025, and January 1, 2026. Prosecutors say the value involved was more than $1,000.<\/p>\n

What the complaint says<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, the restaurant manager reported the losses on January 14, 2026. The manager was identified in court records as K.A. The complaint says the money was taken over several months.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors say the losses were tied to refund transactions involving cash purchases. The complaint says cash deposits were then removed. It also says some deposits may not have been made at all.<\/p>\n

Lindseth was listed as the shift manager handling bank deposits. Supporting records were given to investigators, according to the complaint. Those records allegedly showed theft activity during the time listed in the case.<\/p>\n

The complaint also says Lindseth signed a written statement. That statement was dated January 30, 2025. It read, \u201cI Jeffrey Lindseth have stolen 4,000 dollars.\u201d That date appears in the complaint as written.<\/p>\n

Possible penalty and court record<\/h2>\n

The case cites Minnesota Statute 609.52<\/a>. The complaint says the maximum penalty is five years in prison, a $10,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n

The complaint also lists earlier convictions for Lindseth. Those listed convictions include misdemeanor theft, felony theft by swindle, second-degree DWI, and gross misdemeanor intent to escape tax.<\/p>\n
