Beltrami County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) A Bemidji man faces several charges after a March 29 incident in Beltrami County, according to a criminal complaint.<\/p>\n

Daniel James Reiners<\/strong>, 49, is charged with felony terroristic threats, felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle, gross misdemeanor DWI test refusal, and misdemeanor carrying a pistol while under the influence of alcohol.<\/p>\n

The charges are listed in a complaint filed in the Minnesota District Court<\/a>. The case is filed in Beltrami County.<\/p>\n

What the Complaint Says<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, the case began around 8:46 p.m. on March 29. Authorities received a report of violent threats involving a family dispute in Bemidji.<\/p>\n

Court records say D.R. told police that Reiners threatened to come to an apartment on 26th Street NW. D.R. said he feared Reiners would hurt him.<\/p>\n

The complaint states that Reiners was driving from Wilton toward the apartment. D.R. also reported that Reiners was intoxicated and often carried firearms.<\/p>\n

Authorities then located a blue GMC Sierra tied to the report. The complaint says the pickup was seen traveling 55 mph in a 35 mph zone.<\/p>\n

According to the filing, officers tried to stop the truck. The driver did not stop right away. The truck turned onto nearby streets before stopping in the apartment parking lot.<\/p>\n

Reiners was then detained, according to the complaint. Court records say a handgun was found on the passenger seat. The filing also says there were unopened beer bottles within reach.<\/p>\n

Statements and Arrest<\/h2>\n

The complaint says Reiners admitted he had been driving fast. He also acknowledged there was a firearm in the truck.<\/p>\n

Investigators wrote that Reiners admitted arguing with D.R. He denied some of the reported threats. Still, the complaint says he made several troubling statements.<\/p>\n

Authorities also suspected impairment. The complaint says Reiners declined field sobriety testing and a preliminary breath test.<\/p>\n

After his arrest, he was taken to the Beltrami County Jail. There, court records say Reiners stated he had been drinking all day.<\/p>\n

The complaint says he refused a breath test. It also says he made several alarming remarks while in custody.<\/p>\n
