According to a criminal complaint, the case was filed in the Minnesota District Court<\/a> in Polk County. The court file is 60-CR-26-435. Prosecutors say Wilson took or drove a pickup without the owner\u2019s consent.<\/p>\n

What Investigators Say Happened<\/h2>\n

The owner reported the truck missing on March 30, 2026. Surveillance video allegedly showed a man walk up to the pickup, look inside, get in, and drive away. The complaint says the truck also contained cash, a checkbook, tools, and clothing.<\/p>\n

Police later entered the truck into the national stolen vehicle system. On April 1, 2026, officers in East Grand Forks were looking for Wilson on an outstanding warrant. The complaint says an off-duty officer saw him walking with a backpack and a dark coat.<\/p>\n

Police then located Wilson near Dairy Queen in East Grand Forks. According to the complaint, officers saw him get into the driver\u2019s side of the same pickup. The plate matched the stolen vehicle report from Moorhead.<\/p>\n

Arrest and Evidence<\/h2>\n

The complaint says Wilson got out of the truck and spoke with the police. Officers told him about the warrant. When asked about the pickup, Wilson allegedly said a friend told him he could use it.<\/p>\n

Investigators say the key was found inside the truck. The complaint also says surveillance video from the area showed a man who looked like Wilson near the vehicle. Police also reported suspected blood inside the pickup. Court records say Wilson had received medical treatment the day before.<\/p>\n

The pickup was later returned to its owner, according to the complaint. The charge was filed under Minnesota Statute 609.52<\/a>. The listed maximum penalty is five years in prison, a $10,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n
