{"id":24378,"date":"2026-04-03T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-04-03T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\/wordpress\/?p=24378"},"modified":"2026-04-03T19:32:35","modified_gmt":"2026-04-04T00:32:35","slug":"jeffery-redden-58","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\/wordpress\/jeffery-redden-58\/","title":{"rendered":"Jeffery Redden, 58"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Crookston \u2013 Jeffery Redden, also known as \u201cNightowl,\u201d was born on July 4, 1967, in Fort Benning, GA, and passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Willow, his home in Crookston, surrounded by his loving caregivers.<br \/>\nJeff attended Smith Station Elementary School in Smith Station, AL, Warren Elementary School in Warren, Viking Elementary School in Viking, and graduated from Marshall County Central High School in Newfolden with the Class of 1985.<br \/>\nAfter high school he enlisted in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Hawaii. He received his honorable discharge in 1988. After the Army he attended AVTI mechanics college in Thief River Falls.<br \/>\nJeff worked at Bridgeman, Thief River Falls, Northern Pride Turkey Plant in Thief River Falls, Arctic Cat in Thief River Falls, Ericco Manufacturing in Viking, and Wanzek Construction in Texas and Washington. His last work was at Polk County DAC.<br \/>\nThroughout his life, Jeff was known for his problem-solving skills, especially when it came to mechanics and his passion for being a fork-lift driver.<br \/>\nJeff enjoyed many hobbies including hunting, fishing, grilling, bonfires, playing cards, dice, bingo, and board games with his friends and family. He was an avid fan of rock \u2018n\u2019 roll music, concerts, and comedy shows. He was a collector of movies, CDs, Coke memorabilia, Coors Light items, owls and guitar picks. He loved animals, particularly his exotic snakes and beloved dog, TJ.<br \/>\nJeff AKA \u201cBig Jeff\u201d was a man with a big heart, always willing to help anyone in need, earning a reputation as \u201cJeff to the rescue.\u201d He idolized Evel Knievel as a kid and lived his life like that. He had a love for fireworks, especially on the Fourth of July, which is his birthday. He was a very generous guy and made CDs for friends and family. He loved being a mechanic, fixing and helping anyone.<br \/>\nHe is survived by his devoted parents, Clinton and Nancy Redden of Seale, AL; sister, Jennifer Redden of Newfolden; close nephew, Austin; his son, Mason Redden; close nephew, Cody (Stephanie) Peters; and close niece, Amber and her son Rylyn Redden; stepsisters, Ramona Thaxton of Opelika, AL, Melanie Nolen and Leslie Smoot, both of Phenix City, AL, stepbrother, Chad (Shelly) Peters of Viking; stepsister, Kris (Scott) Mostrom of Thief River Falls; and brother, Matthew (Lisa) Peters of Thief River Falls. Jeff also leaves behind his biological daughter, Tanya Aery; son, Lee (Brooklynn) Redden; long-time family friend, Michelle Rose; and her children, Mike, Bobbi, Samantha, and Tiffany. He was blessed with nine grandchildren, three godchildren, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. His best friend, \u201clittle Jeff\u201d Koshenina, held a special place in his life, alongside the dedicated staff and housemates at Willow and the caring team at Polk County DAC. And his many other work friends that turned into longtime friends.<br \/>\nJeff was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Redden; stepfather, Gary Peters; grandmother, Selma Peters; grandfather, William Rosco Redden Jr.; grandmother, Hannah Camilla Redden; uncle, James Redden; cousin, Alan Redden; and aunts, Margie and Lavada Davis; other family members and friends.<br \/>\nA funeral service for Jeffery will be held at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 3 p.m., with Pastor Gary Barrett officiating.
