Investigation Leads To Vehicle Contact<\/h2>\n

According to the report, police went to 1204 Stephen St. at 3:53 p.m. The call involved a reported theft of a cell phone.<\/p>\n

While at the address, an officer encountered a juvenile driver arriving with two other juveniles. One child was in a car seat.<\/p>\n

During that contact, the officer allegedly smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.<\/p>\n

Driver Points To Mother<\/h2>\n

The juvenile driver told police that marijuana was under a seat. She said it belonged to her mother, Alexie Kaye Burkholder.<\/p>\n

Police then spoke with Burkholder by phone, according to the citation.<\/p>\n

Citation Issued<\/h2>\n

Burkholder, 37, of Thief River Falls, was cited for cannabis open package as the owner or driver of a motor vehicle.<\/p>\n

The citation stated the marijuana weighed about 17 grams.<\/p>\n

The case remains a citation matter unless changed by the court.<\/p>\n
