Barnesville<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Barnesville woman is facing felony and misdemeanor charges after a reported knife threat inside an apartment, according to court documents.<\/p>\n

Hannah Desamille Blankenship<\/strong>, 36, was charged on March 30 in Clay County District Court. She faces second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and misdemeanor domestic assault.<\/p>\n

What Court Documents Say<\/h2>\n

According to court records, officers were sent to an apartment in Barnesville at about 1:54 p.m. on March 29, 2026. The call was for a reported domestic assault.<\/p>\n

A man told authorities that the night before, Blankenship warned him he \u201cbetter sleep with one eye open.\u201d The next morning, he said he opened a bathroom door and asked her to stop using all the hot water.<\/p>\n

According to the complaint, Blankenship then swung a kitchen knife at him and told him not to open the door. Later, the man went into a bedroom to get clothing. Court documents say she swung the knife at him again.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Blankenship also told the man, \u201cI\u2019ve stabbed one person before and I\u2019ll do it again.\u201d Law enforcement later recovered a kitchen knife from a laundry basket inside the apartment.<\/p>\n

Prior Cases Listed<\/h2>\n

Court records show Blankenship is also awaiting sentencing in another Clay County case. In that case, she was accused of threatening another man with a knife. Records say she pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct.<\/p>\n

She also has a pending case involving fifth-degree drug possession and an alleged violation of a Domestic Abuse No Contact Order.<\/p>\n

Custody and Possible Penalty<\/h2>\n

Blankenship is being held at the Clay County<\/a> jail, according to the report. The felony assault charge carries a maximum penalty of seven years in prison, a $14,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n
