Crookston, Polk County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) Edward Walter Grubb III<\/strong>, 34, of Crookston, now faces a felony drug charge in Polk County after a search of his home, according to a criminal complaint.<\/p>\n

Grubb is charged with a fifth-degree controlled substance crime for allegedly possessing methamphetamine. The charge is a felony. Court records say the charge carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison, a $10,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n

What the complaint says<\/h2>\n

The complaint says officers executed a search warrant on March 25, 2026, at Grubb\u2019s home on North Front Street in Crookston.<\/p>\n

Investigators were looking into claims that Grubb contacted S.P. despite an active harassment restraining order. The complaint says the order was issued on February 27, 2026, in Marshall County.<\/p>\n

According to the complaint, S.P. also reported missing property. That property allegedly included an iPad, debit cards, and other personal items. The complaint also says there were attempted fraudulent transactions involving bank accounts and Venmo.<\/p>\n

Items found during the search<\/h2>\n

Court records say officers found drug-related items inside the residence. Those items included used and broken needles, phones, a laptop, and a small bag with a crystal-like substance.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the substance later field tested positive for methamphetamine. Authorities said the total weight was about 1.0 grams with packaging.<\/p>\n

The complaint also says Grubb admitted he had relapsed and used methamphetamine again. Investigators say he told them he brought the drug from North Dakota.<\/p>\n

Prior record and next steps<\/h2>\n

The complaint says Grubb has prior Minnesota convictions, including a 2018 DANCO violation and a 2025 first-degree criminal damage to property conviction.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors also said Grubb was on supervised probation at the time of this new case.<\/p>\n

The charge filed in Polk County is only an allegation. It is not a conviction. The case will move through Minnesota\u2019s court system<\/a>.
