Bemidji<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Bemidji man is facing two charges after a reported domestic assault in Beltrami County. The case was filed in the Minnesota District Court.<\/p>\n

Charges Filed In Beltrami County<\/h2>\n

According to a criminal complaint, 36-year-old Lief Randolph Lussier<\/strong> is charged with interfering with a 911 call and misdemeanor domestic assault. The complaint lists the alleged incident date as October 20, 2025.<\/p>\n

The 911-related charge is a gross misdemeanor under Minnesota Statute 609.78<\/a>. The assault charge is filed under Minnesota Statute 609.2242<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What The Complaint Alleges<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, officers were sent to an apartment on Itasca Loop NW in Bemidji at about 9:15 a.m. after a report of a domestic assault. When they arrived, they found K.J. and two children outside the home.<\/p>\n

The complaint says K.J. showed visible injuries on her face. It also states that she and the children were upset and crying.<\/p>\n

Court records allege Lussier and K.J. argued that morning inside the apartment. The complaint says the argument became physical. K.J. told police that Lussier punched her in the head several times.<\/p>\n

The complaint also says one child tried to call 911 during the incident. Investigators allege Lussier took the phone, which stopped the call from being made.<\/p>\n

Both children told police they saw the assault, according to the complaint. The filing also states that Lussier was gone when officers searched the apartment. Investigators reported finding an open kitchen window and a screen on the ground.<\/p>\n

Case Status<\/h2>\n

The complaint notes that Lussier was also listed as having a felony warrant in another case. The new Beltrami County case is filed as 04-CR-25-3241<\/a> in the Ninth Judicial District.<\/p>\n

As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations until proven in court. A formal court process will determine whether the claims in the complaint are supported.<\/p>\n
