Norman County (trfnews.i234.me)<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 A Grandin, North Dakota, woman faces DWI charges after a late-night traffic stop in Ada. Court records identify her as Sherry Lynn Wika, 50.<\/p>\n

The complaint was filed in Norman County District Court. The court file is 54-CR-26-85. It lists two counts of third-degree driving while impaired. Both charges are gross misdemeanors under Minnesota law<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What the complaint says<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, the stop happened at about 11:09 p.m. on February 28, 2026. An officer was parked near Highway 9 and Highway 200 in Ada. The complaint says the vehicle moved into a turn lane without signaling. It also crossed a solid line and rolled through a stop sign.<\/p>\n

During the stop, Wika said she had left a bar. She said her husband was playing there with a band. The complaint says she admitted drinking three beers. The officer also saw red, watery eyes. Wika first handed over a credit card instead of her license.<\/p>\n

She then agreed to field sobriety tests, according to the complaint. The filing says several signs of impairment were seen during those tests. A preliminary breath test later showed 0.11. A second test at the sheriff\u2019s office also showed 0.11. That test was taken at 12:06 a.m. on March 1, 2026.<\/p>\n

Charges filed in court<\/h2>\n

Prosecutors say the reading was above Minnesota\u2019s 0.08 legal limit. The complaint also cites a prior DWI conviction from 2016. That earlier case raised this one to a third-degree charge. The filing lists one aggravating factor tied to that prior case.<\/p>\n

One count says Wika drove with an alcohol concentration of 0.08 or more within two hours. The second count says she drove while under the influence of alcohol. Each charge carries a maximum penalty of 364 days in jail, a $3,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n
