Thief River Falls (trfnews.i234.me)<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 A Thief River Falls man is facing a third-degree DWI charge after a traffic stop early March 14, according to a criminal complaint.<\/p>\n

Traffic Stop Near Third Street<\/h2>\n

The stop happened at about 1:23 a.m. near Third Street and LaBree Avenue.<\/p>\n

Police arrested Kyle Lewis Erickson<\/strong>, 23, of Thief River Falls.<\/p>\n

He has been charged with third-degree driving while impaired.<\/p>\n

A charge is an allegation. It is not a conviction.<\/p>\n

What The Complaint Says<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, an officer saw signs of possible impairment during the stop.<\/p>\n

When Erickson opened the vehicle door, the officer reported seeing a Busch Light beer can in the door.<\/p>\n

The complaint said Erickson made comments suggesting he expected to be arrested.<\/p>\n

It also said he turned around and placed his hands behind his back.<\/p>\n

Investigators said Erickson later took field sobriety tests and did not pass them.<\/p>\n

He was then taken to the Law Enforcement Center.<\/p>\n

At that location, the complaint said Erickson made another statement indicating the officer had caught him.<\/p>\n

Reported BAC Result<\/h2>\n

According to court documents, a preliminary breath test showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.16.<\/p>\n

The complaint said a DMT test also showed a 0.16 result.<\/p>\n

In Minnesota, a reported alcohol concentration of 0.16 can be an aggravating factor in a DWI case.<\/p>\n
