Thief River Falls<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Thief River Falls woman now faces felony drug and misdemeanor DWI charges after a late-night traffic stop on March 7.<\/p>\n

Traffic Stop Near First Street and Main Avenue<\/h2>\n

According to the criminal complaint, police stopped a vehicle at about 11:15 p.m. The stop happened near First Street and Main Avenue. Officers said the vehicle had no working headlights or taillights.<\/p>\n

The driver was identified as Mariah Louise Lundgren<\/strong>, 30, of Thief River Falls. She has been charged with felony fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor fourth-degree DWI involving a controlled substance.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Lundgren and a passenger told police they were coming from Holt. They also said the vehicle had an electrical problem.<\/p>\n

Signs of Impairment Alleged<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, an officer noticed Lundgren had dilated pupils and glossy eyes. Police also learned she had a sign-and-release warrant after checking her information.<\/p>\n

The complaint states Lundgren did not pass some field sobriety tests. It also says she told police she had last used methamphetamine about a week earlier.<\/p>\n

Search of Purse Led to Drug Charge<\/h2>\n

Police then searched Lundgren\u2019s purse, according to the complaint. Officers allegedly found a baggie with a white crystal substance inside. The complaint says the substance gave a presumptive positive result for methamphetamine.<\/p>\n

Police reported the substance weighed about 1.8 grams. Officers also said they found multiple torches and glass pipes in the purse.<\/p>\n

Lundgren was arrested. The complaint says she later complied with a search warrant for a urine sample. That sample was sent to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension<\/a> for testing.<\/p>\n

Case Still Pending<\/h2>\n

The charges are allegations, not convictions. Lundgren is entitled to due process in court. Prosecutors must prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.<\/p>\n
