Cass Lake<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Cass Lake woman faces two charges after a reported domestic assault on March 5, according to a criminal complaint filed in Minnesota District Court<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Deborah Christine White<\/strong>, 24, is charged with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and misdemeanor domestic assault. The case was filed in Cass County District Court.<\/p>\n

Charges Filed<\/h2>\n

The felony count accuses White of assaulting another person with a dangerous weapon. The complaint says that the weapon was a golf club.<\/p>\n

That charge falls under Minnesota Statute 609.222<\/a>. It carries a maximum penalty of seven years in prison, a $14,000 fine, or both.<\/p>\n

White also faces a misdemeanor domestic assault charge under Minnesota Statute 609.2242<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What the Complaint Says<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, deputies were called to Morning Star Lane NW in Cass Lake at about 8:13 a.m.<\/p>\n

The reporting party, identified in court records only by initials, told law enforcement that White attacked him while he was waking up.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the man told a deputy that White struck him with her hands and then used a golf club.<\/p>\n

He said he was hit several times. The complaint says a deputy saw red marks on his chest, arm, and hand.<\/p>\n

The arm and hand also appeared swollen, according to the filing. The man said he tried to block the blows.<\/p>\n

He also said he pushed White down to stop the attack, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

When deputies spoke with White, the complaint says she described an argument as she tried to wake him for work.<\/p>\n

The filing says White stated she may have put her hands on him first. It says she later admitted to hitting him in the face.<\/p>\n

The complaint also says White admitted to hitting him with a golf club. Deputies then found a broken golf club inside the residence.<\/p>\n

According to the complaint, White identified that club as the one she used.<\/p>\n

Case Status<\/h2>\n

The complaint includes an order of detention. Court records show the case is now moving through the Ninth Judicial District.<\/p>\n
