Mahnomen County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me)<\/a> \u2014 A Mahnomen man is facing two felony charges after a stolen ATV was recovered in Mahnomen County, according to a criminal complaint.<\/p>\n

Court records say Scott Edward Warren<\/strong> was charged with taking or driving a motor vehicle without the owner\u2019s consent and receiving stolen property. The charges were filed in Minnesota\u2019s 9th Judicial District.<\/p>\n

ATV Reported Missing<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, David McNamee reported that a red Arctic Cat ATV was stolen from behind a barn at \u201cThe Ranch\u201d in Mahnomen County. The complaint says the land is used for horses and a horse program for children.<\/p>\n

The ATV was last seen on May 31, 2025, at about 8 p.m. The complaint says the key had been hidden under the vehicle\u2019s box. The ATV was valued at about $2,000.<\/p>\n

What Investigators Allege<\/h2>\n

According to court records, investigators received new information on June 11, 2025. The complaint states that McNamee told an investigator he had heard that Warren may have taken the ATV and hidden it in the woods behind his home.<\/p>\n

The complaint says that information was passed through Rebecca Halonen and Ihyana Parisian. Court records say Parisian claimed she heard Warren found the ATV with keys in it and took it.<\/p>\n

Investigators then searched trails in the area. The complaint says an investigator found the ATV about 30 yards up a trail near a fence. Court records confirm the ATV was the one reported stolen.<\/p>\n

DNA Evidence Cited<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, DNA swabs were taken from the shifter and handlebars. The swabs were later sent to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Court records say Warren was later arrested on an outstanding warrant. After being advised of his rights, the complaint says he denied knowing anything about the ATV beyond hearing people were looking for it.<\/p>\n

The complaint also says Warren agreed to provide a DNA sample. A Bureau of Criminal Apprehension report dated Nov. 19, 2025, found that testing supported including Warren as a contributor to DNA found on the shifter, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Case Status<\/h2>\n

The charges are allegations, not a conviction. Warren has not been found guilty in court. The case will move through the court process in Mahnomen County.<\/p>\n
