Pennington County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) Zoey Gail Fish<\/strong>, of Thief River Falls, faces charges. The case stems from a reported assault and impaired driving incident on March 4.<\/p>\n

According to a criminal complaint, prosecutors charged the 21-year-old with domestic assault by strangulation<\/a>. She also faces two misdemeanor domestic assault<\/a> counts and a third-degree DWI<\/a> count.<\/p>\n

According to the complaint, the incident began around 9:51 p.m. after a report of a possible domestic assault in Pennington County. The complaint says A.N. went to visit her mother and found Fish intoxicated.<\/p>\n

A.N. told authorities she confronted Fish about drinking alcohol. The complaint says Fish was not supposed to be drinking because of mental health struggles.<\/p>\n

Assault Allegations<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, the argument turned physical. A.N. told authorities Fish took her to the ground and got on top of her.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Fish then put her hands around A.N.\u2019s neck and squeezed. A.N. said Fish also pushed on her chest, making it hard to breathe.<\/p>\n

Court records say A.N. later suffered red marks on her neck, a bite mark on her wrist, and bumps on her head. The complaint says A.N. was also struck with a metal dog bowl.<\/p>\n

A.N. was able to get away and run into a nearby home, according to the complaint. She then called law enforcement for help.<\/p>\n

DWI Allegation<\/h2>\n

The complaint says Fish left the scene in a vehicle. A.N. reported that Fish was very intoxicated when she drove away.<\/p>\n

Court records say the vehicle went into a ditch and got stuck. Authorities later made contact with Fish and noticed signs of alcohol use, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Fish refused a preliminary breath test. After her arrest, she later gave a breath sample at the jail.<\/p>\n

That test result was 0.18, according to the complaint. Records say the sample was taken within two hours of driving.<\/p>\n

Court documents also say Fish admitted she had been arguing with her boyfriend. She also admitted driving to try to find him, the complaint says.<\/p>\n

The case is now filed in Pennington County District Court<\/a>. The charges remain allegations unless proven in court.<\/p>\n
