Pennington County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 Brian Allen Torkelson<\/strong>, 35, has been sentenced.<\/p>\n

The case includes a felony count and a misdemeanor trespassing count.<\/p>\n

Sentence and probation terms<\/h2>\n

A judge imposed a 33-month prison term on the felony count.<\/p>\n

The prison time was stayed for five years.<\/p>\n

That means he avoids prison if he follows the rules.<\/p>\n

Torkelson was ordered to serve five years of supervised probation.<\/p>\n

He must complete the Domestic Abuse Batterers\u2019 Intervention Program.<\/p>\n

He must follow any active no-contact or protection orders.<\/p>\n

He must complete any mental health services ordered during supervision.<\/p>\n

The court ordered him held until transport to treatment.<\/p>\n

As of Feb. 22, he had 97 days of credit for time served.<\/p>\n

The court also barred him from firearms, ammunition, and explosives.<\/p>\n

He must provide a DNA sample.<\/p>\n

He was ordered to pay $135 in fees and fines.<\/p>\n

On the trespassing count, the court imposed 90 days in jail.<\/p>\n

The jail time was considered served.<\/p>\n

How the case started<\/h2>\n

The case stems from a reported break-in on Snetting Drive in Thief River Falls.<\/p>\n

The call came in around 9:05 p.m. on Nov. 18, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

What the complaint alleges<\/h2>\n

A woman told officers that Torkelson entered her home without permission.<\/p>\n

She said she had told him not to come to her home.<\/p>\n

She said he left items described as drugs on the floor.<\/p>\n

She also reported threats, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

She said he threatened to burn her house.<\/p>\n

She said he threatened to slash her tires.<\/p>\n

She said the threats were made in front of her juvenile daughter.<\/p>\n

Officers searched but did not find him at first, the complaint states.<\/p>\n

Later, law enforcement returned to the residence.<\/p>\n

The woman gave permission to unlock and enter the home.<\/p>\n

Authorities say they found Torkelson inside.<\/p>\n
