Polk County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Fargo man has pleaded not guilty in a Polk County drug case. The case also includes fleeing and impaired driving charges.<\/p>\n

Correll Juoquin Wright<\/strong>, 43, waived his omnibus hearing on Tuesday, March 3. He then entered a not guilty plea in court.<\/p>\n

Wright faces three felony charges. They include first-degree sale of a controlled substance, first-degree driving while impaired by a Schedule I or II drug, and fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle.<\/p>\n

Drug sale allegations<\/h2>\n

According to court records, the most serious charge is first-degree drug sale. That charge carries a maximum sentence of 30 years.<\/p>\n

State sentencing guidelines may call for less time. The range depends on a defendant\u2019s criminal history. More details are available from the Minnesota Sentencing Guidelines Commission<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors charged Wright in November. They say he sold cocaine to an undercover Pine to Prairie Drug Task Force officer.<\/p>\n

The first alleged sale happened on Nov. 4 in Neilsville. Investigators said Wright provided about 19.4 grams of cocaine, including packaging. They said the exchange price was $1,300.<\/p>\n

The second alleged sale happened on Nov. 18 in Climax. Investigators said Wright provided about 28.2 grams of cocaine. They said the agreed price was $1,500.<\/p>\n

According to the probable cause statement, Wright later disputed that amount. Investigators said he asked for another $600 after the deal.<\/p>\n

Traffic stop and arrest<\/h2>\n

Authorities said officers tried to stop Wright after he left Climax. He was driving south on U.S. Highway 75.<\/p>\n

According to the complaint, Wright tried to pass law enforcement vehicles. Officers then blocked his path and used a PIT maneuver.<\/p>\n

His vehicle spun and came to rest in a ditch, the complaint said. Wright was then taken into custody.<\/p>\n

Authorities also alleged Wright was impaired by a controlled substance. They also said he did not have a valid license because it had been revoked.<\/p>\n

What comes next<\/h2>\n

Wright\u2019s next court appearance is a pre-trial hearing. It is scheduled for 9 a.m. on April 14.<\/p>\n
