Clearbrook, Clearwater County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) Jerry Gordon Sather, 81, of Clearbrook, is facing new criminal charges.<\/p>\n

An unopened beer can was also reported nearby.<\/p>\n

Sather allegedly said he drank earlier.<\/p>\n

Arrest and reported resistance<\/h2>\n

The complaint says the deputy asked Sather to do field sobriety tests.<\/p>\n

Sather allegedly refused.<\/p>\n

He allegedly said he would not pass the tests.<\/p>\n

The deputy arrested him on suspicion of impaired driving.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Sather became upset during the arrest.<\/p>\n

It alleges he raised his cane as if to strike the deputy.<\/p>\n

The deputy then handcuffed him, the complaint says.<\/p>\n

It also alleges Sather continued to resist.<\/p>\n

A later vehicle search allegedly found another open beer can.<\/p>\n

Authorities took Sather to a Sanford emergency department for medical clearance.<\/p>\n

Investigators then sought a warrant for a blood or urine sample.<\/p>\n
