Chase William Donaldson, 28, of Fertile, faces five counts in Polk County District Court. The court file number listed is 60-CR-26-183.<\/p>\n

What the complaint alleges<\/h2>\n

The complaint says investigators began looking into cocaine activity after a reported overdose on February 1, 2026. The overdose happened at a home near Crookston.<\/p>\n

A woman identified as A.K.P. was taken to a hospital by ambulance, the complaint says. A family member told investigators that hospital staff found cocaine in her system.<\/p>\n

Investigators obtained a search warrant for the Crookston-area home. The complaint says they found suspected cocaine, cash, and firearms inside a locked bedroom.<\/p>\n

The resident, Alex Oliver Lee Kaiser, was arrested, according to the filing. The complaint says Kaiser later admitted selling drugs, including cocaine.<\/p>\n

Searches in Crookston and Fertile<\/h2>\n

Investigators also searched Kaiser\u2019s phone, the complaint says. They reported messages with Darla Rae Donaldson, who lives in Fertile.<\/p>\n

On February 4, 2026, investigators served a search warrant at a Fertile home, the complaint says. They reported finding suspected cocaine in jars and a scale with residue.<\/p>\n

The complaint also lists suspected marijuana, \u201cwax,\u201d mushrooms, ammunition, and several firearms. Darla Rae Donaldson told investigators she used cocaine for pain, the complaint says.<\/p>\n

While the search continued, Chase William Donaldson arrived in a vehicle he drove, the complaint says. He told investigators he delivered cocaine from Kaiser to his mother, the filing states.<\/p>\n

The complaint says he made those deliveries five to six times in the past year. It says amounts ranged from two grams to one ounce.<\/p>\n

Donaldson also claimed a 9mm pistol and loaded magazines were his, according to the complaint. The filing says his urine test was positive for cocaine.<\/p>\n

The charges and what comes next<\/h2>\n

Donaldson is charged with first-degree sale and first-degree possession of a controlled substance. He is also charged with conspiracy to commit a first-degree controlled substance crime.<\/p>\n

He also faces a gross misdemeanor gun and ammunition charge for being an alleged unlawful drug user. A misdemeanor charge alleges he drove with cocaine or its metabolite in his body.<\/p>\n

The felony counts each carry a maximum of 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine, under Minnesota law. Charges are allegations and require proof in court.<\/p>\n
