The charge is felony issuance of dishonored checks. The case is filed in Roseau County District Court. Court records list it as <strong>68-CR-25-844<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint says the checks were written between Sept. 1 and Sept. 30, 2025. The payee listed was <strong>Salol One Stop<\/strong>. The checks were drawn on an account at Citizens State Bank of Roseau, the filing says.<\/p>\n<h2>What investigators say happened<\/h2>\n<p>According to the complaint, the business reported that the checks were returned unpaid. The reason listed was non-sufficient funds or a closed account. The filing also says the business later added service charges.<\/p>\n<p>Court papers list five checks totaling <strong>$650.48<\/strong>. With added fees, the filing lists the total as <strong>$800.48<\/strong>. The complaint says the amount was not paid within the allowed business days.<\/p>\n<h2>Checks listed in the complaint<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Check 1042 (Sept. 1, 2025): $77.45<\/li>\n<li>Check 1043 (Sept. 25, 2025): $202.26<\/li>\n<li>Check 1044 (Sept. 30, 2025): $128.48<\/li>\n<li>Check 1503 (Sept. 27, 2025): $100.76<\/li>\n<li>Check 1504 (Sept. 29, 2025): $141.53<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What the charge means<\/h2>\n<p>Minnesota law allows prosecutors to combine dishonored checks within a six-month period. A combined value over $500 can be charged as a felony. The complaint cites <a href=\"https:\/\/www.revisor.mn.gov\/statutes\/cite\/609.535\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Minnesota Statute 609.535<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A felony conviction under this section can carry up to five years in prison.
