Grand Forks County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A routine traffic stop turned into a chase in Grand Forks on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

Stop turns into a chase<\/h2>\n

Police said an officer tried to stop a 2010 Honda Ridgeline near South 10th Street.<\/p>\n

The stop was attempted at about 8:15 p.m. on Feb. 25, 2026.<\/p>\n

Police said the truck had equipment violations.<\/p>\n

Police also said the registered owner\u2019s license was revoked.<\/p>\n

Authorities said the driver did not stop.<\/p>\n

They said the truck fled through city streets.<\/p>\n

The route included South 20th Street.<\/p>\n

It also included Demers Avenue.<\/p>\n

It also included South Washington Street.<\/p>\n

PIT maneuver ends pursuit<\/h2>\n

The pursuit ended near Library Lane, police said.<\/p>\n

A Grand Forks County Sheriff\u2019s deputy used a PIT maneuver.<\/p>\n

Police said the maneuver disabled the truck.<\/p>\n

The stop happened in the 2000 block of Library Lane.<\/p>\n

Standoff and tactical response<\/h2>\n

After the truck stopped, police reported a standoff.<\/p>\n

They said the driver and passenger refused to exit.<\/p>\n

Officers then used a high-risk vehicle stop.<\/p>\n

Police said they deployed a Lenco BearCat.<\/p>\n

The BearCat is an armored tactical vehicle.<\/p>\n

Police also used less-lethal impact munitions.<\/p>\n

Authorities said both people then surrendered.<\/p>\n

No serious injuries were reported.<\/p>\n

Police said several agencies assisted during the pursuit.<\/p>\n

They did not release officer names.<\/p>\n

Arrests and charges<\/h2>\n

Police identified the driver as John Allen Dubois, 33.<\/p>\n

They said he faces several charges.<\/p>\n
