Devils Lake, North Dakota<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Fort Totten woman is facing felony charges. Police say the case started as a domestic call.<\/p>\n

The charges name Taniesha Rainbow<\/strong>, of Fort Totten. Court records list two felonies. They also list two misdemeanors.<\/p>\n

What the police say happened<\/h2>\n

Police say they responded to an apartment on February 18, 2026. The call came in around 3:52 p.m.<\/p>\n

A man told officers his girlfriend had assaulted him, the complaint says. Officers said they heard a woman screaming inside.<\/p>\n

The man opened the door and pointed officers to a back bedroom. Officers reported a large broken mirror in the hallway.<\/p>\n

Police found Rainbow in a closet, the complaint says. Officers said she refused commands to come out or stand.<\/p>\n

Police said they tried to handcuff her. They said she fought and resisted during the arrest attempt.<\/p>\n

An officer reported Rainbow kicked him in the face. Police said the kick caused a small nosebleed.<\/p>\n

Officers said they eventually restrained Rainbow. They removed her from the apartment.<\/p>\n

Victim\u2019s report<\/h2>\n

Police said the man told them Rainbow arrived intoxicated. He said she was not welcome there.<\/p>\n

He said Rainbow refused to leave. He said she scratched him during the fight, police reported.<\/p>\n

Officers noted scratches on his arm and cheek, the complaint says. Police said the scratches were still bleeding.<\/p>\n

Charges and jail booking<\/h2>\n

Prosecutors charged Rainbow with felony assault on a peace officer. She also faces a felony charge for preventing arrest.<\/p>\n

Rainbow is also charged with misdemeanor domestic assault. A misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge was also filed.<\/p>\n

Police said Rainbow was medically cleared. She was then taken to the Lake Region Law Enforcement Center<\/a> in Devils Lake.<\/p>\n
