Court records say Terry Edward Schmidt<\/strong>, 58, was in a vehicle off 203rd Street on February 19, 2026.
\nA deputy responded after a report at about 7:34 a.m.
\nThe deputy arrived a short time later.<\/p>\n

The deputy spoke with Schmidt at the scene.
\nThe deputy noted small pupils and poor balance.
\nThe deputy also reported fast speech.<\/p>\n

Schmidt told the deputy he recently used methamphetamine, the complaint says.
\nA portable breath test showed a zero alcohol reading.<\/p>\n

Field tests and arrest<\/h2>\n

The deputy asked Schmidt to do roadside tests, the complaint says.
\nThe deputy reported several signs of impairment.
\nThe walk-and-turn test showed balance problems.
\nThe one-leg stand test was stopped for safety.<\/p>\n

Schmidt was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Search warrant and refusal<\/h2>\n

A judge approved a search warrant for a blood or urine sample, court records say.
\nSchmidt was asked to provide a sample.
\nHe refused testing, the complaint says.

Schmidt is charged with third-degree DWI for refusing a chemical test required by warrant.
