Waubun, Mahnomen County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A 19-year-old Ponsford woman is charged after an early-morning assault.<\/p>\n

Court records say Kaylee Lynn Warren<\/strong> is accused of attacking her cousin inside a Waubun home.<\/p>\n

Police were called at 2:51 a.m. on February 17, 2026, the complaint says.<\/p>\n

A family member told dispatch the victim had been \u201cjumped\u201d in her room.<\/p>\n

What the police say happened<\/h2>\n

Officers found the victim with heavy swelling around her right eye.<\/p>\n

They also saw blood on the right side of her face.<\/p>\n

The victim could not open that eye, police wrote.<\/p>\n

Officers also noted cuts on her lip, hand, and arm.<\/p>\n

The victim told officers that Warren came over with a friend.<\/p>\n

She said Warren was intoxicated.<\/p>\n

An argument started about the victim\u2019s child\u2019s father, the complaint says.<\/p>\n

The victim asked both visitors to leave, the complaint says.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Warren and the other person began punching the victim.<\/p>\n

After the victim fell, the pair stomped the back of her head, police wrote.<\/p>\n

The victim said they threatened to break her things.<\/p>\n

She also said they threatened to take her car keys.<\/p>\n

She told officers she feared more stomping if she moved.<\/p>\n

Arrest and alcohol test<\/h2>\n

Police later found Warren in a vehicle on a nearby driveway, the complaint says.<\/p>\n

An officer approached to investigate, police wrote.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Warren yelled and acted aggressively.<\/p>\n

As the officer moved in, Warren swung her right arm, police allege.<\/p>\n

The officer was hit on the left side of the face, the complaint says.<\/p>\n

Warren was taken to the ground and handcuffed.<\/p>\n

In custody, Warren admitted drinking alcohol, police wrote.<\/p>\n

A preliminary breath test showed .235, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Minnesota law refers to this as a screening test.<\/p>\n
