Mahnomen County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) A Mahnomen man is charged with second-degree DWI. The charge follows a late-night traffic stop. The stop happened after a reported domestic assault call.<\/p>\n

What authorities allege<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, deputies were sent to a home on the 2200 block of Waabanong East Road. Dispatch logged the call as a domestic assault. The report said a woman was outside screaming for help.<\/p>\n

Dispatch also said a man was trying to hurt her. As a deputy arrived near College Road and Waabanong East, dispatch warned that the suspect was leaving. The vehicle was described as a black sedan.<\/p>\n

The deputy soon saw a matching sedan and stopped it. The driver was identified as George Robert Taylor, 38, of Mahnomen. The deputy reported smelling alcohol on Taylor\u2019s breath.<\/p>\n

The deputy also reported that Taylor\u2019s eyes were bloodshot and watery. Taylor allegedly said he had \u201ca few\u201d drinks. The complaint says field tests showed signs of impairment.<\/p>\n

The deputy reported distinct nystagmus during testing. A preliminary breath test reportedly showed .126. Taylor was arrested and taken to the Mahnomen County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

A DataMaster breath test later showed a .14 blood alcohol concentration, the complaint says. The alleged offense date listed in the filing is February 10, 2026.<\/p>\n

Charges filed<\/h2>\n

Prosecutors charged Taylor with Gross Misdemeanor Traffic: DWI (second-degree). He is also charged with Petty Misdemeanor Traffic: driving after revocation. The case was filed in Mahnomen County District Court.<\/p>\n

The complaint lists prior license revocations on November 1, 2024, and April 18, 2025. Prosecutors allege Taylor drove while revoked on February 10, 2026.<\/p>\n
