Breezy Point, Crow Wing County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A late-night traffic stop led to drug and DWI charges.<\/p>\n

Amber Marie Howard<\/strong>, 39, of Pequot Lakes, was the driver, court records say.<\/p>\n

Howard is charged with felony fifth-degree drug possession.<\/p>\n

She is also charged with misdemeanor DWI, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Traffic stop on County Road 11<\/h2>\n

The stop happened on February 7, 2026, at about 11:20 p.m.<\/p>\n

An officer said the vehicle had no front license plate.<\/p>\n

The vehicle was stopped on County Road 11 near Ranchette Drive.<\/p>\n

Signs of impairment are alleged<\/h2>\n

The complaint says Howard looked fidgety and had a clenched jaw.<\/p>\n

The officer also reported her pupils did not react to light.<\/p>\n

Howard allegedly said she used meth \u201cmaybe two days ago.\u201d<\/p>\n

Field sobriety tests were given, the complaint states.<\/p>\n

The officer wrote that the results showed impairment.<\/p>\n

Meth found after arrest, complaint says<\/h2>\n

Howard was arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired.<\/p>\n

Investigators sought a warrant for a blood or urine sample, records say.<\/p>\n

After the sample was taken, Howard reportedly spoke up.<\/p>\n

She allegedly said she had meth hidden in her bra.<\/p>\n

The complaint says she handed over a small plastic case.<\/p>\n

Inside were white crystal fragments weighing about 1.63 grams, records say.<\/p>\n

The substance field-tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the filing.<\/p>\n

Court action and release conditions<\/h2>\n

Charges were filed on February 10, 2026.<\/p>\n

An Order of Detention was signed by Judge Stephen John Wentzell, records show.<\/p>\n

Howard later appeared in Crow Wing County District Court.<\/p>\n

Judge Patricia Aanes set bail at $0 with conditions.<\/p>\n

Bail was set at $15,000 without conditions, the order states.<\/p>\n

Howard is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.<\/p>\n

Future hearings will be scheduled in Crow Wing County District Court.<\/p>\n
