Detroit Lakes, Becker County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) A 36-year-old man faces two felony charges. Court records say he did not update his required address registration.<\/p>\n

Charges filed in Becker County<\/h2>\n

Duane Lawrence Fineday Jr., 36, address unknown, is charged in Becker County District Court.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors allege he violated Minnesota\u2019s predatory offender registration law twice.<\/p>\n

The case includes two felony counts for failing to register a current address.<\/p>\n

What investigators reported<\/h2>\n

According to court records, a Detroit Lakes police officer checked an apartment building on March 18, 2025.<\/p>\n

The officer was trying to confirm Fineday\u2019s listed primary address.<\/p>\n

A building manager said nobody lived in the unit.<\/p>\n

That unit was listed as Fineday\u2019s primary address in state registration paperwork.<\/p>\n

Court records say Fineday listed the Detroit Lakes apartment on Nov. 6, 2024.<\/p>\n

The paperwork was part of a Bureau of Criminal Apprehension registration packet.<\/p>\n

Records say no change-of-address form was later received.<\/p>\n

Why registration is required<\/h2>\n

Court records say Fineday must register as a predatory offender until 2041.<\/p>\n

The requirement is tied to a criminal sexual conduct delinquency adjudication.<\/p>\n

That adjudication occurred in September 2006 in Hubbard County.<\/p>\n

Warrants and attempts to locate him<\/h2>\n

Court records say Fineday has had an active arrest warrant since Nov. 21, 2024.<\/p>\n

Investigators tried to find him through family at past addresses.<\/p>\n

Those efforts were not successful, records say.<\/p>\n

Records also list two active misdemeanor warrants for failing to appear in court.<\/p>\n

Those missed hearings were scheduled in April 2025 and July 2025.<\/p>\n

Court records say he has not had recent contact with law enforcement.<\/p>\n

A new arrest warrant was issued on Jan. 16, 2026, in Becker County District Court.<\/p>\n
