Detroit Lakes, Becker County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A 21-year-old Detroit, Michigan man is charged in Becker County District Court.<\/p>\n

Maurice Drewaun Jordan<\/strong> is charged with felony theft by swindle.<\/p>\n

What prosecutors allege<\/h2>\n

According to court records, the case involves a Detroit Lakes Walmart theft.<\/p>\n

Investigators said it happened on Dec. 15, 2025.<\/p>\n

They said Jordan stole more than $2,000 in electronics.<\/p>\n

The complaint lists two Apple Watches at $429 each.<\/p>\n

It also lists two 11-inch Apple iPads at $599 each.<\/p>\n

Four spider wraps were also taken, valued at $5.80 each.<\/p>\n

The total value listed is $2,079.20.<\/p>\n

How the theft allegedly happened<\/h2>\n

Prosecutors say Jordan used a fake Spark Shopper driver’s identity.<\/p>\n

They say he entered the store shortly after 1 p.m.<\/p>\n

He went straight to the electronics department, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Jordan allegedly told an associate he was a Spark Shopper delivery driver.<\/p>\n

He then showed what looked like a real order barcode on his phone.<\/p>\n

He requested two iPads and two watches from a secured case.<\/p>\n

The associate retrieved the items, the complaint said.<\/p>\n

The associate added spider wire security devices to the items.<\/p>\n

The items were placed into a bag, as requested.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors say Jordan then left without paying.<\/p>\n

Alarm activation and follow-up<\/h2>\n

The store\u2019s exit alarms activated, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

A Walmart employee followed Jordan outside and stopped him.<\/p>\n

Jordan allegedly showed the same barcode and an \u201cexit pass.\u201d<\/p>\n

The employee believed the pass was legitimate.<\/p>\n

The employee allowed Jordan to leave, the complaint said.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors say Jordan entered a waiting vehicle and left.<\/p>\n

Walmart later determined the Spark Shopper order was fraudulent.<\/p>\n

The merchandise had not been paid for, according to court records.<\/p>\n

What happens next<\/h2>\n

Jordan\u2019s first appearance is scheduled for March 19.<\/p>\n

The hearing is set before District Judge Michelle W. Lawson.<\/p>\n

A criminal complaint contains allegations.<\/p>\n

A defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.<\/p>\n
