Bemidji, Beltrami County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>).\u00a0A Bemidji woman faces drug and DWI charges after a February 2, 2026, traffic stop.<\/p>\n

Kristan Jean Raymond<\/strong>, 46, is charged with felony fifth-degree drug possession. She is also charged with a gross misdemeanor DWI test refusal.<\/p>\n

What police allege<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, officers watched a vehicle leave an area tied to drug activity. Police said the vehicle then made travel moves they found suspicious.<\/p>\n

Police stopped the vehicle at about 2:31 p.m. They said the driver failed to signal within 100 feet of a turn.<\/p>\n

The stop happened near Roosevelt Road SE and Lambert Avenue SE in Bemidji. The vehicle pulled into a home on the 700 block of Scott Avenue SE.<\/p>\n

Signs of impairment<\/h2>\n

Police identified the driver as Raymond. Officers said she had glassy eyes and very small pupils.<\/p>\n

The complaint also notes \u201cheat bumps\u201d on the back of her tongue. Police said this can be linked to drug use.<\/p>\n

Raymond was asked to do field sobriety tests. Police said she showed clues of impairment on several tests.<\/p>\n

During a timing test, she said 30 seconds had passed after about 57 seconds. Police said she stepped off a line during a walking test.<\/p>\n

Police also said she swayed and hopped during a one-leg balance test. She was arrested for DWI.<\/p>\n

Suspected fentanyl and oxycodone found<\/h2>\n

After the arrest, officers searched the vehicle, the complaint says. Police reported finding a loose oxycodone pill.<\/p>\n

They also reported finding a backpack with Raymond\u2019s financial card. Inside, police said they found about 0.71 grams of suspected fentanyl.<\/p>\n

Raymond reportedly denied knowing about the substances. The suspected drugs were sent for testing, police said.<\/p>\n

Test refusal alleged<\/h2>\n

Investigators sought a warrant for a blood or urine sample. Judge Annie Claesson-Huseby signed the warrant, the complaint states.<\/p>\n

Police said Raymond refused testing multiple times, even after the warrant. In Minnesota, test refusal can bring a separate DWI charge.<\/p>\n

Court and bail<\/h2>\n

Raymond was booked into the Beltrami County Jail, according to the complaint. The case was filed in court on February 4, 2026.<\/p>\n

At her first appearance, Judge Matti R. Adam set bail at $12,000 without conditions. Bail was set at $0 with release conditions.<\/p>\n
