Becker County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 Kenneth Quentin Brown Jr., 54, of rural Ogema, has been charged.<\/p>\n

The case is filed in Becker County District Court, according to court records. Brown is also known as \u201cCrusher,\u201d records say.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors filed two felony counts of fourth-degree assault on a peace officer. He is also charged with obstructing justice. A misdemeanor count alleges he fled from an officer on foot.<\/p>\n

What court records allege<\/h2>\n

Court records say deputies were called on July 19, 2025. They responded to a disturbance at a rural Ogema home.<\/p>\n

A man at the home told a deputy he feared for his life. He said Brown had not been taking mental health meds. He said Brown had not been sleeping. He said Brown tried to hide and made death threats.<\/p>\n

The deputy approached Brown and asked what he was doing. The deputy told him to walk over.<\/p>\n

Records say Brown ran toward nearby woods. The deputy chased him for a short distance.<\/p>\n

Records say Brown turned around and came back fast. He held a flashlight in each hand. He moved toward the deputy in an aggressive way.<\/p>\n

After a warning, the deputy used a Taser, records say. Brown fell to the ground.<\/p>\n

Struggle during arrest<\/h2>\n

Officers tried to arrest and handcuff Brown, records say. He pulled away and twisted on the ground.<\/p>\n

Records say he threatened to kill an officer. Officers say Brown spat at them during the struggle. Records say he kicked and kept resisting.<\/p>\n

Officers carried him to a squad car, records say. Officers requested an ambulance due to his condition.<\/p>\n

Records mention heavy sweating and hard breathing. Brown was taken to an emergency room in Detroit Lakes, records say.<\/p>\n

The court mail sent to Brown\u2019s home was later returned. The return is dated Jan. 5, 2026, court records say.<\/p>\n

Brown\u2019s first appearance was set for Jan. 29, 2026. The hearing was scheduled before Judge Gretchen D. Thilmony.<\/p>\n
