Bagley, Clearwater County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Bemidji man faces a felony DWI charge after a traffic stop in Bagley, Minnesota.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors charged Gregory Roy Weossner<\/strong>, 70, of Bemidji with first-degree driving while impaired. He is also charged with driving after cancellation as being inimical to public safety. The charges were filed on February 2, 2026, according to court records.<\/p>\n

What the police say happened<\/h2>\n

According to the criminal complaint, an officer saw a white Honda Accord with a cracked windshield. Police say the crack partly blocked the driver\u2019s view. The stop happened around 4:31 p.m. on January 31, 2026.<\/p>\n

The car kept moving for about a half mile, police say. It then stopped on Central Street, the complaint states.<\/p>\n

Police say the driver had glassy eyes and mumbled speech. The complaint also describes facial twitching and a stiff jaw. An officer reported seeing red, raised bumps on the back of his tongue. Police say the driver talked a lot and spoke at random.<\/p>\n

Drug use claim and field test<\/h2>\n

During roadside testing, Weossner reportedly said he uses illegal drugs often. Police say he told the officer he smoked methamphetamine about three days earlier.<\/p>\n

The complaint says he was asked about drug testing. Police say he replied he would likely test positive for methamphetamine.<\/p>\n

The complaint also describes a modified Romberg test. Police say Weossner was told to estimate 30 seconds. He reportedly said 30 seconds passed after about 21 seconds.<\/p>\n

License status and arrest<\/h2>\n

Police say a computer check showed his driving status was cancelled. The status was listed as \u201cinimical to public safety,\u201d the complaint states. Weossner was arrested at the scene, according to the filing.<\/p>\n

Police obtained a search warrant for a urine sample. The complaint says he provided the sample after the arrest.<\/p>\n

Charges and prior convictions<\/h2>\n

Prosecutors charged first-degree DWI under Minnesota law. They cited Minnesota Statute 169A.20, subdivision 1(7). They also charged a gross misdemeanor under Minnesota Statute 171.24, subdivision 5.<\/p>\n

Court records list three prior impaired driving convictions. Those convictions were in 2018, 2019, and 2023 in Beltrami County. Prosecutors say those priors raise this case to a felony.<\/p>\n

Judge Eric Schieferdecker set bail at $20,000 with conditions, records show. The judge also allowed $40,000 bail with no conditions. The case remains pending.<\/p>\n
