Thief River Falls, Minnesota<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 Sharon Rose Nelson, 72, of Red Lake Falls, died January 29, 2026.<\/p>\n

She died at Altru Hospital<\/a> in Grand Forks, North Dakota.<\/p>\n

Family members were with her, according to her obituary<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Life and work<\/h2>\n

Nelson was born on February 12, 1953, in Red Lake Falls.<\/p>\n

Her parents were Wilfred Gagner and Alma (Bruneau) Gagner.<\/p>\n

She attended Lafayette High School and graduated in 1971.<\/p>\n

The school is part of the Red Lake Falls School District<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She studied cosmetology at Northland Community & Technical College<\/a> in Thief River Falls.<\/p>\n

She later owned and operated Sharon\u2019s Salon in Plummer, Minnesota.<\/p>\n

She also worked at Hillcrest Senior Living<\/a> in Red Lake Falls.<\/p>\n

Nelson also provided child care through a daycare job.<\/p>\n

Later, she worked for DigiKey<\/a> in Thief River Falls.<\/p>\n

Family<\/h2>\n

Nelson married John Marcus Nelson on February 11, 1972.<\/p>\n

The wedding took place at St. Joseph\u2019s Catholic Church<\/a> in Red Lake Falls.<\/p>\n

John Nelson died earlier, the obituary said.<\/p>\n

She is survived by three children.<\/p>\n

They are Christine Nelson of Red Lake Falls.<\/p>\n

They are Michael Nelson of Thief River Falls and his wife, Shannon.<\/p>\n

They are Stephanie (Nelson) Bradshaw of Golden Valley and her husband, Yusef.<\/p>\n

Nelson also had seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n

The grandchildren are Quianah (Jonah), Tamara, Samantha (Landon), Sawrena, Miah (fianc\u00e9 Mason), Nathan, and Donovan.<\/p>\n

The great-grandchildren are Hadley, Jones, Creed, and Jayden.<\/p>\n

She is also survived by several siblings.<\/p>\n

They include Ella Gagner, Mary Jackson, Kathy (Robert) Hochreiter, and Lou Hagl.<\/p>\n

They also include Steve Gagner, Willard (Nasreen) Gagner, and Jim (Noreen) Gagner.<\/p>\n

They also include Jerry (Jan) Gagner and Deb (Nick) Thompson.<\/p>\n

She was preceded in death by her parents.<\/p>\n

She was also preceded by her husband, John Marcus Nelson.<\/p>\n

She was also preceded by sisters Jan Sherman and Shirley Slininger.<\/p>\n

She was also preceded by her brother-in-law, Doug Hagl.<\/p>\n

Service details<\/h2>\n

A public visitation is scheduled for February 6, 2026.<\/p>\n

It begins at 4 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Service<\/a> in Thief River Falls.<\/p>\n

A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m.<\/p>\n
