The charges stem from a reported assault on September 17, 2025.<\/p>\n<h2>What deputies say happened<\/h2>\n<p>Records say deputies were called to a home in the 200 block of Palmer Street. The call came in around 5:02 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Deputies say the dispute started over unpaid phone bills. The complaint says Elzenga tried to take phones in the home.<\/p>\n<p>The adult victim said the argument turned physical in a laundry room. She told deputies he put his hands on her neck.<\/p>\n<p>She said her breathing was blocked. The call stayed open for about 11 minutes and 30 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators say the recording captured yelling and swearing. The complaint says the juvenile could be heard crying.<\/p>\n<p>Deputies say Elzenga forced his way into an upstairs bedroom. The complaint says he pushed past the juvenile.<\/p>\n<p>Deputies say he told the adult victim, \u201cI should have just f***ing killed you,\u201d records say.<\/p>\n<h2>Injuries noted<\/h2>\n<p>Deputies said they saw red marks on the adult victim\u2019s neck. They said they photographed the marks.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint says Elzenga left before deputies arrived. Records say a second 911 call came in later that morning.<\/p>\n<p>The caller reported he had returned and was yelling again.<\/p>\n<h2>Court status<\/h2>\n<p>A judge issued a warrant for Elzenga\u2019s arrest, records show. The complaint notes a prior conviction for interfering with a 911 call in January 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The case is listed as dormant until the warrant is served.
