Rockford, Wright County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>)\u00a0Trisha Ann Burroughs<\/strong>, 48, of Rockford, faces felony and DWI charges after a late-night traffic stop. The allegations are listed in a Wright County complaint.<\/p>\n

The stop happened on January 24, 2026, at about 10:07 p.m., the complaint says. A Wright County deputy reported seeing a Mercury SUV driving erratically in Rockford.<\/p>\n

What deputies say happened<\/h2>\n

The deputy said the SUV traveled 17 mph in a 10 mph zone. The deputy also reported repeated turn signals without turning. The complaint says the SUV stopped past stop lines at three intersections.<\/p>\n

The deputy said Burroughs cut a corner into the oncoming lane. The complaint says it happened during a short left turn. The turn was onto Kettenack Drive, according to the report.<\/p>\n

During the stop, the deputy said Burroughs had bloodshot eyes. The deputy also reported slurred speech. The complaint says her heart rate was 114 beats per minute.<\/p>\n

Burroughs told the deputy her last drug use was about a month earlier, the complaint says. The complaint notes a drug-related arrest in September 2025. The deputy reported poor performance on field sobriety tests.<\/p>\n

Search for suspected drugs<\/h2>\n

Investigators reported a \u201crock collection\u201d in the driver\u2019s door. The complaint says it matched tools tied to meth use. The report says Burroughs agreed to a vehicle search.<\/p>\n

Authorities said they found a small purse with two glass pipes. The pipes had burnt residue, the complaint says. Investigators also reported two baggies of crystal material.<\/p>\n

One baggie held 3.22 grams of white crystals, the complaint says. The second held 0.23 grams of brown crystals, the report says. The complaint says both tested positive for methamphetamine.<\/p>\n

Chemical test refusal<\/h2>\n

At the jail, investigators sought a blood or urine sample, the complaint says. Court records say a judge authorized a search warrant for testing. The complaint says Burroughs refused to provide a sample.<\/p>\n

Records also note two prior DWI convictions from 2023. Prosecutors filed the new case on January 26, 2026.<\/p>\n
