Hubbard County, Minnesota<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A driver died in a head-on crash Tuesday on Highway 34, east of Park Rapids.<\/p>\n

The crash happened at about 12:10 p.m. It was near County Road 11 and Evening Drive in Henrietta Township.<\/p>\n

What we know<\/h2>\n

The Minnesota State Patrol<\/a> posted a crash update Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Troopers said a 2005 Buick LeSabre was traveling east on Highway 34.<\/p>\n

The State Patrol said the Buick crossed the center line. The vehicle then went out of control.<\/p>\n

Troopers said the Buick struck a westbound 2007 Chevy Colorado head-on.<\/p>\n

The Buick driver was an 80-year-old woman from Nevis. She was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

Her name was not released Tuesday. The State Patrol said it will release her name at noon Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The Chevy driver was Noel Francis Sletten<\/strong>, 85, of Park Rapids. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

Sletten was taken to Sanford Health \u2013 Fargo<\/strong>. The report said he was wearing a seat belt.<\/p>\n

Airbags deployed in both vehicles, the State Patrol reported. Alcohol was not suspected.<\/p>\n

Response and investigation<\/h2>\n

The road was wet at the time of the crash. Several agencies responded to the scene.<\/p>\n

Those agencies included the Hubbard County Sheriff\u2019s Office, Park Fire, and North Ambulance.<\/p>\n

The State Patrol did not list a cause in the initial report. It did not explain the lane crossing.<\/p>\n

Investigators often review scene marks and vehicle damage. They may also interview witnesses.<\/p>\n
