Moorhead, Minn. (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>)<\/strong> \u2014 A Horace, North Dakota, man is accused of using a wig as a disguise during a laundry room theft at a Moorhead apartment building.<\/p>\n

What police allege<\/h2>\n

Eric Allan Lemer, 34, of Horace, ND, is charged with theft and damage to property.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors filed one gross misdemeanor count of Damage to Property in the Third Degree.<\/p>\n

They also filed one misdemeanor count of Theft.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the incident happened on December 10, 2025.<\/p>\n

Police were sent to an apartment complex after a report of a broken change machine.<\/p>\n

Investigators learned Lemer had been staying in the building as a guest.<\/p>\n

The complaint says another resident let him into the building.<\/p>\n

Authorities say he then borrowed a tenant\u2019s wig.<\/p>\n

The complaint says he wore the wig to hide his identity.<\/p>\n

Change machine broken, cash taken<\/h2>\n

The complaint says Lemer went into the laundry room and used force on the machine.<\/p>\n

Police say the locking mechanism was damaged during the break-in.<\/p>\n

Investigators estimate that about $200 in cash was taken from the machine.<\/p>\n

They also estimate $884.33 in damage to the equipment.<\/p>\n

The complaint says the damage was not authorized by the owner.<\/p>\n

Lemer is charged under Minnesota law for theft and property damage.<\/p>\n

Damage to property is listed under Minn. Stat. 609.595<\/a>.<\/p>\n
