Detroit Lakes (trfnews.i234.me)<\/strong> \u2013 A Detroit Lakes man has been charged with two felony counts related to domestic assault and threats of violence. Samuel Joseph Renteria<\/strong>, 38, was arrested following a disturbance at his apartment on November 27, 2025.<\/p>\n

Incident Overview<\/h3>\n

At approximately 3:30 a.m., law enforcement officers responded to a call about a disturbance. Dispatch reports indicated that Renteria was intoxicated and behaving erratically, leading officers to express concern for the safety of children in the apartment.<\/p>\n

When officers arrived, Renteria allegedly threatened to release his German Shepherd dog on them and became hostile toward the officers. He specifically made threats to one officer and their family.<\/p>\n

Arrest and Charges<\/h3>\n

Renteria was arrested on charges of domestic assault and felony threats of violence. He was transported to the Becker County Jail<\/a>. On December 1, 2025, Renteria was granted bail. He posted $750 in cash bail and was released under strict conditions.<\/p>\n

Bail Conditions and Court Appearance<\/h3>\n

The court set bail conditions, including a domestic abuse no-contact order, restrictions on alcohol and nonprescribed drugs, and a ban on possessing weapons. Additionally, Renteria is prohibited from coming within 500 feet of the apartment building.<\/p>\n

His next court appearance is scheduled for January 26, 2026, before District Judge Gretchen D. Thilmony.<\/p>\n
