Thief River Falls (trfnews.i234.me)<\/strong> \u2013 Tanya Marie Azatassou<\/strong>, a Fargo woman, was arrested on January 13, 2026, on drug possession charges after a search warrant was executed at an apartment in Thief River Falls<\/a>, Pennington County, Minnesota. This arrest stems from an investigation into methamphetamine and controlled substances.<\/p>\n

Azatassou, born on November 22, 1972, was found in an apartment at 540 9th Street West, where police discovered methamphetamine and other drugs. A small, clear baggie containing a crystal-like substance suspected to be methamphetamine was found in her purse. The substance tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed approximately 0.5 grams.<\/p>\n

Along with the meth, police seized a Tylenol bottle containing three Tylenol tablets and three white pills identified as Zolpidem Tartrate<\/strong>, a controlled substance. Azatassou faces charges for Controlled Substance Crime in the 5th Degree<\/strong> and Felony Possession<\/strong> of meth and Zolpidem Tartrate.<\/p>\n

Background of the Investigation<\/h3>\n

The investigation began when Tammy Lynn Brummitt<\/strong>, a suspect in a DWI and drug-related case, told police that Azatassou had been in a nearby apartment selling and using methamphetamine. Brummitt identified Debra Robin Fields<\/strong> as the person who had supplied the drugs to Azatassou.<\/p>\n

A search warrant was issued for the apartment of Debra Fields<\/strong>, located at the same address. Police found methamphetamine hidden in various areas of the apartment, including Fields’<\/strong> bedroom and safe. During the search, Azatassou<\/strong> was arrested, and Fields<\/strong> was detained for questioning.<\/p>\n

Azatassou is charged with two counts: one for possession of methamphetamine over 0.25 grams and another for possessing Zolpidem Tartrate, a controlled substance in Schedule IV. These offenses could lead to serious legal consequences, including fines and imprisonment.<\/p>\n
