Fargo, Cass County (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>)<\/strong> \u2014 Fargo police are investigating a shooting reported on Saturday, January 24, 2026.<\/p>\n

Police shared details in a City of Fargo news release<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What the police say happened<\/h2>\n

Police said an adult man arrived at a local medical facility at 11:03 a.m. He had an apparent gunshot wound.<\/p>\n

The man told officers he was leaving a north Fargo residence. He then heard a \u201cpop\u201d and felt he was shot.<\/p>\n

Police said he flagged down a passerby for help. The victim was then taken to the hospital.<\/p>\n

The victim did not share more details, police said. He also did not name a location.<\/p>\n

A witness later contacted police, according to investigators. The witness said the shooting followed an altercation inside a home.<\/p>\n

Police said the victim and suspect knew each other. The suspect was described as a Black adult male.<\/p>\n

Police said the suspect is about 5 feet 8 inches tall. They also described a muscular build.<\/p>\n

Investigators served a search warrant in the 1500 block of 10th Street North. Police said they believe the shooting happened there.<\/p>\n

Arrest update<\/h2>\n

Police later announced an arrest. Investigators said they arrested Odus Maxwell, 50, of Fargo.<\/p>\n

Police said the arrest happened at 8:02 p.m. They said Maxwell was taken to the Cass County Jail.<\/p>\n

Police said the victim\u2019s injury was not life-threatening. No other injuries were reported.<\/p>\n
