Detroit Lakes, Becker County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Sartell woman faces charges after a stop near Callaway.<\/p>\n

Julie Ann Blood, 30, of Sartell, is charged in Becker County District Court.<\/p>\n

The charges include felony receiving stolen property.<\/p>\n

They also include a gross misdemeanor for giving a false name.<\/p>\n

A misdemeanor driving charge was also filed.<\/p>\n

Court records say her license was canceled as a public safety risk.<\/p>\n

How the stop happened<\/h2>\n

A stolen-vehicle alert came in on Dec. 24, 2025.<\/p>\n

The alert came from Flock license plate reader cameras.<\/p>\n

The Detroit Lakes Police Department uses the system for investigations.<\/p>\n

The alert flagged a silver 2019 Buick Envision.<\/p>\n

Records say the SUV was stolen in Minneapolis.<\/p>\n

A Becker County deputy located the vehicle on Highway 59.<\/p>\n

The deputy stopped it on Highway 59 in Callaway, records say.<\/p>\n

Blood was driving, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

She first gave a family member\u2019s name, records say.<\/p>\n

She also gave the wrong birth date, records say.<\/p>\n

Officers later identified her as Blood.<\/p>\n

What Blood told officers<\/h2>\n

Blood said a friend asked her to hold the vehicle for a few days.<\/p>\n

She said she met the friend about 10 days earlier.<\/p>\n

She told officers the friend goes by \u201cKangaroo.\u201d<\/p>\n

Blood said, \u201cKangaroo\u201d texted her with a request.<\/p>\n

She said he wanted a ride from Mahnomen.<\/p>\n

She said the pickup spot was at a casino.<\/p>\n

Blood told a deputy she believed the SUV was stolen.<\/p>\n

The deputy confirmed the vehicle was reported stolen, records say.<\/p>\n

Blood did not give \u201cKangaroo\u2019s\u201d real name, records say.<\/p>\n

Bond and court date<\/h2>\n

Officers also found Blood had active warrants, records say.<\/p>\n

They also confirmed she could not legally drive, records say.<\/p>\n

Blood posted a $3,000 bond on Dec. 27, 2025.<\/p>\n

She was released under standard conditions, records say.<\/p>\n

Her next court hearing is set for Feb. 9, 2026.<\/p>\n

The hearing is scheduled before Judge Gretchen D. Thilmony.<\/p>\n

The charges are allegations.<\/p>\n

A defendant is presumed innocent in court.<\/p>\n
