Fargo, Cass County (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>)<\/strong> \u2014 Fargo police say a domestic call led to an arrest Thursday night.<\/p>\n

This is an update to an earlier report of a possible stabbing.<\/p>\n

Police were sent to the 2700 block of 32nd Avenue South at about 8:26 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2026.<\/p>\n

One person told officers they had been stabbed during a dispute inside a home.<\/p>\n

What the police say happened<\/h2>\n

Police said they spoke with several people at the scene.<\/p>\n

After interviews, police said the injury came from a pair of pliers.<\/p>\n

Police said the victim had minor injuries.<\/p>\n

The victim refused a trip to the hospital.<\/p>\n

Police did not release the victim\u2019s name.<\/p>\n

Police also did not share more details about the dispute.<\/p>\n

Arrest and charges<\/h2>\n

Police said they found enough cause to arrest at the scene.<\/p>\n

Michael Schaffer, 35, of Fargo, was taken into custody.<\/p>\n

Police listed the case as domestic violence and aggravated assault.<\/p>\n

Schaffer was held in the Cass County Jail as of Friday morning, January 23, 2026.<\/p>\n

Police said the people involved knew each other.<\/p>\n
