Pennington County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 Two women face felony drug charges after a search in Thief River Falls.<\/p>\n

Investigators say the case centers on an apartment at Oak Lodge Senior Housing on Ninth Street West.<\/p>\n

Court records say officers recovered about 107 grams of methamphetamine in the unit.<\/p>\n

Search warrant at senior housing<\/h2>\n

The investigation began after a separate arrest on Jan. 13, according to the criminal complaint.<\/p>\n

A woman arrested that day agreed to give a recorded statement.<\/p>\n

She said she left Debra Robin Fields\u2019 apartment shortly before a traffic stop.<\/p>\n

She said she received meth from Fields.<\/p>\n

She mentioned \u201ceight-balls\u201d and \u201cT-shirts,\u201d court records say.<\/p>\n

An eight-ball can mean about 3.5 grams.<\/p>\n

A \u201cT-shirt\u201d can mean about 1.75 grams.<\/p>\n

Investigators said the Pine to Prairie Drug Task Force had prior tips about the address.<\/p>\n

A search warrant was issued for Fields\u2019 apartment, court records say.<\/p>\n

Law enforcement served the warrant around 9:07 p.m. on Jan. 13.<\/p>\n

Tanya Marie Azatassou was inside the apartment, the complaint says.<\/p>\n

Fields was in another part of the unit during entry.<\/p>\n

What investigators say they found<\/h2>\n

Investigators reported multiple containers that tested positive in the field for meth.<\/p>\n

They also reported a digital scale and packaged baggies.<\/p>\n

They found $877 in cash in the bedroom, the complaint says.<\/p>\n

Investigators also reported a safe with Fields\u2019 name.<\/p>\n

They found more meth and pills inside, according to court records.<\/p>\n

They also found gabapentin pills in a bottle with another woman’s name.<\/p>\n

Investigators said the total meth weight was about 107.1 grams, including packaging.<\/p>\n

Azatassou allegedly had about 0.5 grams of meth in her purse.<\/p>\n

They also found three zolpidem tablets, the complaint says.<\/p>\n

Zolpidem is a Schedule IV drug under federal law.<\/p>\n

What Fields allegedly said<\/h2>\n

Fields allegedly told investigators the meth belonged to her.<\/p>\n

She said she packaged it for sale, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Fields called some material \u201creclaimed\u201d meth, the complaint says.<\/p>\n

She said buyers usually paid in cash.<\/p>\n

She claimed $800 came from casino winnings.<\/p>\n

She said the rest came from drug sales.<\/p>\n

Fields also spoke about family visits, the complaint says.<\/p>\n

She said she kept items in one place when grandchildren visited.<\/p>\n

She also said her drug use increased after her son Nathan died.<\/p>\n

Azatassou allegedly bought meth from Fields and used some there.<\/p>\n

Charges filed<\/h2>\n

Fields, 60, of Thief River Falls, is charged with first-degree and third-degree controlled substance crimes.<\/p>\n

Azatassou, 53, of Fargo, is charged with fifth-degree controlled substance crimes.<\/p>\n

A felony complaint was filed in Pennington County District Court.<\/p>\n
