Moorhead, Clay County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me)<\/a> \u2014 Juvenile charges are pending after a middle school student was allegedly found with a large amount of suspected fentanyl pills in Moorhead.<\/p>\n

Moorhead Police confirmed the student was taken into custody on Dec. 11. The student attends Horizon Middle School, according to police.<\/p>\n

What the police say happened<\/h2>\n

Police said the student had about 1,500 blue pills believed to contain fentanyl. Police estimated the street value at about $25 per pill. That would total about $37,500.<\/p>\n

Police said another student reported the drugs. Officers then responded and recovered the pills, police said.<\/p>\n

The case involves a juvenile. Police did not release the student\u2019s name. Police also did not share the student\u2019s age.<\/p>\n

School response<\/h2>\n

Police said the school will add periodic random K9 searches. The searches will be used as a regular practice, police said.<\/p>\n
