Fargo<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me)<\/a> Firefighters put out a fire that damaged a garage at a south Fargo home Monday evening.<\/p>\n

Fire call on Parkview Drive South<\/h2>\n

Crews were sent to 2805 Parkview Drive South just after 7:00 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 19.<\/p>\n

The Fargo Fire Department<\/a> said the attached garage was on fire on arrival.<\/p>\n

Residents had already left the house when firefighters reached the scene.<\/p>\n

Fire officials said no one was hurt.<\/p>\n

The home sits in South Fargo, near major travel routes and busy evening traffic.<\/p>\n

Large response and support crews<\/h2>\n

The department called a second alarm to bring in more help.<\/p>\n

Five engines, one truck, and two battalion chiefs responded, the department said.<\/p>\n

Sanford Ambulance<\/a> also responded to the scene.<\/p>\n

The Salvation Army<\/a> helped support crews and residents.<\/p>\n

The Fargo Police Department<\/a> assisted at the scene as well.<\/p>\n

A drone unit was also used to help with scene support, officials said.<\/p>\n

Firefighters contained the flames and put the fire out.<\/p>\n

Crews worked to keep the fire from spreading beyond the garage.<\/p>\n

The cause is still under investigation<\/h2>\n

Fire officials said the cause remains under investigation.<\/p>\n

A damage estimate was not available Monday night.<\/p>\n

Investigators will work to learn where the fire started.<\/p>\n

They will also review any heat sources in the garage.<\/p>\n

Updates may be shared by the department in the days ahead.<\/p>\n

Fire safety reminders<\/h2>\n

Fire crews remind residents to leave fast if smoke or flames appear.<\/p>\n

Close doors as you exit when it is safe to do so.<\/p>\n

Call 911 from outside or from a safe location.<\/p>\n

Do not go back inside for pets or items.<\/p>\n

Keep working smoke alarms in every sleeping area and hallway.<\/p>\n

Store gas cans and oily rags the right way, and away from heaters.<\/p>\n

If you use space heaters, keep them three feet from anything that can burn.<\/p>\n
