MENAHGA, Wadena County<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A three-vehicle crash on icy Highway 71 hurt one driver.<\/p>\n

It happened on Friday, January 16, 2026.<\/p>\n

What happened<\/h2>\n

The Minnesota State Patrol said a 2017 Volvo tractor-truck was headed south on Highway 71.<\/p>\n

It collided with two SUVs that were headed north.<\/p>\n

The crash happened near Highway 71 and 11th Street SE in Menahga.<\/p>\n

Troopers listed the time as 6:01 p.m.<\/p>\n

Drivers and injuries<\/h2>\n

The tractor-truck driver was Jamal Said Mohamed, 37, of Minneapolis.<\/p>\n

He was not hurt.<\/p>\n

Troopers said he was wearing a seat belt.<\/p>\n

One SUV was a 2011 Chevy Traverse.<\/p>\n

The driver was Megan Elizabeth Burkhammer, 46, of Garfield.<\/p>\n

She had non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

She was taken to Park Rapids Hospital.<\/p>\n

A 14-year-old girl passenger was not hurt.<\/p>\n

Troopers said both were wearing seat belts.<\/p>\n

The Traverse airbag deployed, the report said.<\/p>\n

The second SUV was a 2018 Ford Explorer.<\/p>\n

The driver was Hannah Grace Caron, 29, of Menahga.<\/p>\n

She was not hurt.<\/p>\n

A male infant passenger was also not hurt.<\/p>\n

Troopers said both were buckled.<\/p>\n

The Explorer airbag did not deploy, the report said.<\/p>\n

Road conditions and response<\/h2>\n

Road conditions were listed as snow and ice.<\/p>\n

Troopers said alcohol was not involved.<\/p>\n

Several agencies responded to the scene.<\/p>\n

They included Menahga Police and Sebeka Police.<\/p>\n

Wadena County deputies also assisted.<\/p>\n

Menahga Fire and first responders helped at the scene.<\/p>\n

Becker County deputies also responded, the report said.<\/p>\n

Astera Ambulance crews assisted with patient care.<\/p>\n

Troopers listed it as an injury crash.<\/p>\n
