Snow Calls and Other Reports<\/h2>\n

On January 2, 2026, a driver reported a car stuck on a county road.<\/p>\n

A deputy helped free the car, and the driver left safely.<\/p>\n

On January 3, 2026, a resident reported online harassment.<\/p>\n

A deputy documented the report and shared safety advice.<\/p>\n

On January 4, 2026, deputies found an occupied vehicle stuck at Sportsman\u2019s Park in Red Lake Falls.<\/p>\n

The person got a ride home and planned a tow.<\/p>\n

Scam and Theft Investigations<\/h2>\n

Also on January 4, 2026, a Red Lake Falls resident reported a scam loss.<\/p>\n

The report said the loss was a large amount of money.<\/p>\n

That case remains under investigation.<\/p>\n

On January 5, 2026, another Red Lake Falls resident reported theft from a parked vehicle.<\/p>\n

The vehicle was parked along Main Avenue.<\/p>\n

Parking Enforcement<\/h2>\n

On January 6, 2026, law enforcement towed a vehicle from Chicago Avenue in Red Lake Falls.<\/p>\n

Officials said it blocked snow removal.<\/p>\n

Early on January 7, 2026, two vehicles were cited on Main Avenue.<\/p>\n

The citations were for the city winter parking rule.<\/p>\n

Felony Worthless Checks Case<\/h2>\n

On January 6, 2026, a criminal complaint charged Damon Roy Anderson, 50, of Minneapolis.<\/p>\n

The charge alleges felony issuance of worthless checks in Red Lake County.<\/p>\n

Officials said the checks were written in September and October 2025.<\/p>\n

They said the total was more than $500.<\/p>\n

Officials also said Anderson was arrested in November 2025 in Norman County.<\/p>\n

He has been held in the jail in Crookston since that arrest.<\/p>\n

Fatal Crash North of Plummer<\/h2>\n

On January 7, 2026, dispatch received several reports of a serious crash on Highway 59.<\/p>\n

The crash was north of Plummer.<\/p>\n

First responders from several agencies went to the scene.<\/p>\n

Two vehicles collided, and one adult male died at the scene.<\/p>\n

The other driver had minor injuries and was treated at the scene.<\/p>\n

The victim was taken to the University of North Dakota for an autopsy.<\/p>\n

The Minnesota State Patrol is leading the crash investigation.<\/p>\n

DWI Arrest After Ditch Call<\/h2>\n

On January 8, 2026, deputies got a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Highway 92.<\/p>\n

The location was east of Brooks.<\/p>\n

Deputies identified the driver as Joshua Steven Anderson, 39, of St. Hilaire.<\/p>\n

Officials said signs pointed to alcohol impairment.<\/p>\n

They also reported a loaded handgun on the driver\u2019s side floor.<\/p>\n

Anderson was arrested and booked into the Crookston jail.<\/p>\n

He was booked for gross misdemeanor DWI and unlawful transport of a firearm.<\/p>\n

Officials said the vehicle was not damaged, but it was towed.<\/p>\n

He is expected to be released on January 9, 2026.<\/p>\n

He is expected to receive a court summons later.<\/p>\n
