Anderson, 81, of Oslo, Minnesota.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Early Life in Crookston and Thief River Falls<\/h2>\n<p>Doug was born on St. Patrick\u2019s Day, March 17, 1944, in Crookston, Minnesota.<br \/>\nHis parents were Arthur and Ella (Engen) Anderson.<br \/>\nHe grew up in Thief River Falls, where he made many lifelong friends.<br \/>\nDoug graduated from Lincoln High School in 1962.<br \/>\nInformation about the Thief River Falls school system can be found on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.trf.k12.mn.us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Thief River Falls Public Schools website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>From a young age, Doug learned the value of steady work and loyalty.<br \/>\nFamily members recall that he was quiet but very kind.<br \/>\nHe loved simple time with relatives, neighbors, and friends.<br \/>\nThose traits marked the rest of his life.<\/p>\n<h2>A Life Built in Oslo With Colleen<\/h2>\n<p>After high school, Doug went to work for Dahlstrom Motors in Oslo.<br \/>\nThere he met the love of his life, Colleen Eide.<br \/>\nThe two were married on September 4, 1965, at Zion Lutheran Church in Oslo.<br \/>\nMore information about Zion Lutheran can be found on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.elca.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Evangelical Lutheran Church in America site<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To this union, three children were born.<br \/>\nThey welcomed Dawn Marie and later twins, Terry and Gerri.<br \/>\nThe Anderson home was known for laughter, coffee around the table, and open doors.<br \/>\nDoug supported his children at games, concerts, and school events.<br \/>\nHe also taught them the importance of honesty and keeping your word.<\/p>\n<h2>Long Career at Grand Forks Air Force Base<\/h2>\n<p>In 1973, Doug took a job at Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota.<br \/>\nHe worked there as a vehicle inspector.<br \/>\nThat role fit his careful and patient nature.<br \/>\nDoug served at the base until his retirement in 2009, a span of more than three decades.<br \/>\nInformation about the base is available on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.grandforks.af.mil\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Grand Forks Air Force Base website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Co-workers remember Doug as steady and dependable.<br \/>\nHe did his job quietly and well.<br \/>\nHe took pride in making sure vehicles were safe and ready for the airmen and women who used them.<br \/>\nHis family is proud of the small but steady part he played in that mission.<\/p>\n<h2>Family, Grandchildren, and Community<\/h2>\n<p>Doug is survived by his wife of 60 years, Colleen Anderson.<br \/>\nHe is also survived by their three children:<br \/>\nDawn (Neal) Feltman,<br \/>\nTerry (Kelly) Anderson,<br \/>\nand Gerri (James Hawley) Anderson.<br \/>\nNine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren also carry on his legacy.<\/p>\n<p>Family members say Doug was happiest when surrounded by his growing family.<br \/>\nHe enjoyed hearing about new jobs, new schools, and new babies.<br \/>\nHe was quick with a smile and a gentle joke.<br \/>\nQuiet visits on the farm or in the living room were his favorite moments.<\/p>\n<p>Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Ella Anderson.<br \/>\nHe was also preceded by his siblings, Duane and Gail Anderson.<br \/>\nThe family takes comfort in the belief that they are now together again.<\/p>\n<h2>Inurnment and Celebration of Life<\/h2>\n<p>Inurnment for Douglas A.
