Oslo, MN\u00a0<\/strong>(trfnews.i234.me)\u00a0<\/a>\u2013 Family and friends are remembering Douglas A. Anderson of Oslo as a gentle husband, father, and grandfather.
\nDoug entered eternal life peacefully on Thursday, November 27, 2025.
\nHe was 81 years old and had just shared a Thanksgiving meal at the Feltman farm in rural Warsaw, North Dakota.<\/p>\n

Early Life in Crookston and Thief River Falls<\/h2>\n

Doug was born on St. Patrick\u2019s Day, March 17, 1944, in Crookston, Minnesota.
\nHis parents were Arthur and Ella (Engen) Anderson.
\nHe grew up in Thief River Falls, where he made many lifelong friends.
\nDoug graduated from Lincoln High School in 1962.

From a young age, Doug learned the value of steady work and loyalty.
\nFamily members recall that he was quiet but very kind.
\nHe loved simple time with relatives, neighbors, and friends.
\nThose traits marked the rest of his life.<\/p>\n

A Life Built in Oslo With Colleen<\/h2>\n

After high school, Doug went to work for Dahlstrom Motors in Oslo.
\nThere he met the love of his life, Colleen Eide.
\nThe two were married on September 4, 1965, at Zion Lutheran Church in Oslo.

To this union, three children were born.
\nThey welcomed Dawn Marie and later twins, Terry and Gerri.
\nThe Anderson home was known for laughter, coffee around the table, and open doors.
\nDoug supported his children at games, concerts, and school events.
\nHe also taught them the importance of honesty and keeping your word.<\/p>\n

Long Career at Grand Forks Air Force Base<\/h2>\n

In 1973, Doug took a job at Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota.
\nHe worked there as a vehicle inspector.
\nThat role fit his careful and patient nature.
\nDoug served at the base until his retirement in 2009, a span of more than three decades.

Co-workers remember Doug as steady and dependable.
\nHe did his job quietly and well.
\nHe took pride in making sure vehicles were safe and ready for the airmen and women who used them.
\nHis family is proud of the small but steady part he played in that mission.<\/p>\n

Family, Grandchildren, and Community<\/h2>\n

Doug is survived by his wife of 60 years, Colleen Anderson.
\nHe is also survived by their three children:
\nDawn (Neal) Feltman,
\nTerry (Kelly) Anderson,
\nand Gerri (James Hawley) Anderson.
\nNine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren also carry on his legacy.<\/p>\n

Family members say Doug was happiest when surrounded by his growing family.
\nHe enjoyed hearing about new jobs, new schools, and new babies.
\nHe was quick with a smile and a gentle joke.
\nQuiet visits on the farm or in the living room were his favorite moments.<\/p>\n

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Ella Anderson.
\nHe was also preceded by his siblings, Duane and Gail Anderson.
\nThe family takes comfort in the belief that they are now together again.<\/p>\n

Inurnment and Celebration of Life<\/h2>\n

Inurnment for Douglas A. Anderson will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Oslo in the spring.
\nCemeteries like Riverside offer families a peaceful place to remember loved ones.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Doug\u2019s life on Saturday, December 6, 2025.

\nStories, memories, and a light lunch will be shared.
\nGuests are encouraged to bring their favorite Doug stories to pass along.<\/p>\n

The Anderson family thanks everyone for the prayers, cards, and kind words.
