Minneapolis, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) — A 17-year-old Woodbury boy has been charged as an adult in a violent carjacking and shooting that critically injured a man in south Minneapolis last December.

Randal Barnard Williams, who prosecutors say goes by the nickname “T-Moe,” faces four felony charges: second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, and two counts of first-degree aggravated robbery.

Authorities allege Williams shot the victim five times during a planned robbery on Dec. 5, 2024, before fleeing in the victim’s vehicle with a teenage girl believed to have lured the victim through a dating app.

The December 2024 Shooting

Police responded just before 11:30 p.m. to an alley in the 3900 block of 11th Avenue South. Officers found an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, abdomen, flank, and pelvis. The victim was rushed to the hospital, underwent surgery, and survived, but lost part of his stomach and sustained permanent injuries.

Court documents say the victim first met a girl known as “Sasha” on Nov. 29, 2024, through a dating app. That meeting involved Sasha, two other girls, and Williams — who was visibly armed. On Dec. 5, Sasha allegedly lured the victim to an alley in south Minneapolis, where Williams opened fire and stole his car.

The stolen vehicle, a black Mazda, was found abandoned in Fridley on Dec. 13, near a location tied to Sasha. Investigators later determined she and Williams were romantically involved and had previously been charged in an unrelated October 2024 home invasion.

Arrest and Evidence

Williams and Sasha were arrested together in Red Wing on Jan. 23, 2025. Investigators say recovered phones contained incriminating photos, videos, and text messages, including images of Sasha posing with a handgun and driving the victim’s stolen vehicle. A text message sent by Williams after the shooting reportedly stated, “I gotta lay low.”

Court Proceedings

Following juvenile certification hearings, a judge ruled on July 21, 2025 that Williams would be tried as an adult. He is scheduled to make his initial appearance Wednesday afternoon.

Sasha has also been charged, but her case remains sealed in juvenile court.
