Woman Pleads “Guilty” To Murder Charge In Bemidji Overdose Death

BEMIDJI, MN (trfnews.i234.me) A woman has pleaded guilty to a charge of 3rd Degree Murder in connection to an overdose death in 2020. Becky Stough is scheduled to be sentenced on June 27, 2023.

Becky Stowe, a 44-year-old from Bemidji, has pleaded guilty to third-degree murder in an overdose distribution case. Stowe was charged with the drug-related death of a victim, described only as RR, who died in June 2020 after consuming pills laced with fentanyl sold by Stowe. Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Paul Bunyan drug task force, investigated the death and found that Stowe had been selling pills in the Bemidji area. Though Stowe did not directly give the pills to RR, law enforcement was able to link the pills that killed RR to Stowe. Stowe eventually admitted to selling the pills, known as Perk 30s, containing fentanyl. Stowe has pled guilty to a single count of third-degree murder for the drug-related death of RR.
