Thief River Falls, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – On April 10, police received a report of theft by swindle at Walmart. Kristina Lynn Finn, 36, of Red Lake Falls, has been charged with felony theft by swindle and summoned to court. The complaint was filed on June 7.
Finn allegedly scanned various items of merchandise as taco seasoning instead of their actual items. According to the complaint, Walmart staff reported that she had engaged in such activity numerous times since December. Staff stopped her before she left with a cart of unpaid merchandise valued at $538.85.
When staff informed her that they had several videos of her switching tickets on multiple occasions and asked if that was correct, Finn allegedly responded, “Sure.” When she was told the value of the items was at least $2,000, she replied, “Wow.” Finn later told a police sergeant that she guessed what staff were saying was correct.
On 18 days between December 2 and April 6, Finn allegedly failed to pay for or paid less than the retail value for merchandise. One day included three separate transactions. The items had a net value of $2,903.84.
