NARRATIVE:

On July 8, 2024, at approximately 5:05 PM, a serious collision occurred on Highway 1804 near mile marker 333, about two miles west of Trenton. The Can-Am Defender, driven by David Ferrell, was northbound on 147th Ave NW. The Ford F-150, driven by Jesus Jalomo Salas, was eastbound on Highway 1804 near the same location. The Can-Am rolled through a stop sign onto Highway 1804. The Ford attempted to brake but was unable to stop in time, striking the Can-Am in the front driver side area. The Can-Am came to rest in the middle of Highway 1804 facing east, while the Ford ended up in the north ditch facing east.

David Ferrell sustained serious injuries and was transported to CHI St. Alexis Hospital in Williston before being flown to Trinity Hospital in Minot. Neither the driver nor the passenger in the Ford pickup was injured.

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
